The serenity prayer…

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. ~Reinhold Niebuhr

*

Reading the serenity prayer always gives me a few things to think about.

If we could just keep these three things in the for front of our minds and follow them completely, we would be a lot less stressed.

Trusting in God takes a lot of pressure off of our every day decisions.

Many times we give something to God, and then take it back to resolve our own way.

And that just doesn’t really work.

It is human nature, however.

So trust in the wisdom to know the difference and practice it until you are able to trust, do what you can, and let the rest go.

The other serenity prayer…

The OTHER Serenity Prayer…

God, grant me the serenity to stop

beating myself up for not doing

things perfectly, the courage to

forgive myself because I’m working

on doing better, and the wisdom to

know that you already love me

just the way I am.

~unknown

Perfectionism is a hard trait

to acknowledge let alone accept.

But we must admit that everyone

suffers from a little bit of perfectionism,

if not a whole lot of it.

At some point we realistically know that being perfect

is impossible and that we have to feel

okay just the way we are.

Because perfectionism is an illusion

and real life is a practice.

Where we get another chance

every day

to make our life

better and better

and make it more authentic

or however we really want it to be.

Along with knowing

that God accepts us unconditionally,

just the way we are right now

without question.

Your inner wisdom…

Your inner wisdom…

Your inner wisdom is persistent, but quiet.  It

will always whisper, but it will never stop

knocking at your door.  Allow yourself to be

guided by the inner wisdom of your soul.

Listen to your intuition, it will tell you who you

are.

~author unknown

*

Trust your inner wisdom.

When something doesn’t feel right,

listen to your still, small, inner voice.

Many times it will keep you safe

and out of harms way if you listen to it carefully.

So many people are deceptive and would like to trick you into believing them,

but your inner being can detect even the slightest lie if you learn to listen to it.

Take time to get to know your own

inner voice and trust the wisdom it shares with you.

It will guide you to who you are meant to be.

Being rude is…

Being rude

is easy.

It does not

take any effort

and is a sign

of weakness

and insecurity.

Kindness shows

great self-discipline

and strong self-esteem.

Being kind is not always easy

when dealing with rude people.

Kindness is a sign of a person

who has done a lot of personal work

and has come to a great

self-understanding and wisdom.

Choose to be kind over being right,

and you’ll be right every time  because

kindness is a sign of STRENGTH.

~Attitude to Inspiration

*

Sometimes when you are in an altercation with someone,

you have an instant response to their rudeness.

You automatically act out to the injustice someone is pushing on you.

It is a natural response.  When someone yells at you – you yell back in justification.

But as you mature and grow in life, you realize that there are always going to be rude people and “bullies”.

If you can just step away from them, letting them vent on someone else – they will.

This takes your willingness to let people flow in and out of your life with out holding on to them.

You must LOVE yourself enough to know that other people may have a different agenda than you do.

They are not always looking for your best interests – even though they say they are.

Time always shows a person’s true colors.

So don’t be in a rush to believe in others.

They often come on with a big story that suits them, and after time, you find out that there are a lot of “holes” in their story.

It just doesn’t make sense.

And often, you become the target of their anger.

So learn to believe in yourself.

Follow your own path and listen to the still small voice inside you

that guides you in truth and LOVE.

Be kind and kindness will eventually flow all around you,

replacing the old ways with new ones.

Spiritual warriors…

Spiritual warriors…

“Healers are spiritual

warriors who have found

the courage to defeat the

darkness of their souls.

Awakening and rising

from the depths of their

deepest fears,like a

Phoenix rising from the

ashes.  Reborn with a

wisdom and strength that

creates a light that shines

bright enough to help,

encourage, and inspire

others out of their own

darkness.”

~ melanie koukouris

Finding your own path, and taking a stand is the only way to become an effective healer.

If you are stuck in fear, you are stuck in a low vibration.

How can you heal someone else if you are in a place of needing healing yourself?

You can’t.

You have to find a way to let yourself feel better first.

Whether you call it healing or just changing some things in your health or in your life, there are some things you need to clean up.

Once you get everything cleaned up or clarified and your thoughts are positive and loving, you are so much more able to effect some one else’s life in a positive way.

When you continue to complain about things that are going wrong in your own life, you only attract more of it.

When you practice habitual thoughts you keep getting the same thing over and over.

You need to know when to let things go.

If you keep thinking about things that don’t feel good, you just get more of them.  Keeping them active in your vibration.

Thinking about something you don’t want never changes it into something that you do want.

It just keeps it active and alive in your current situation.

You have to be in the receiving mode and change the path.

Cleaning up your vibration.

Releasing the old.

Then you can just let in the good.

Focusing on the things that feel good.  Fine tuning your thinking.

Becoming a spiritual warrior and awakening your self into a place of love and light.

Reborn with a wisdom and strength that changes your life and allows you to be even more loving and kind.

Being appreciative and thankful.

And in this new position of higher vibration or higher brighter energy, you are able to

create a light within yourself that shines bright enough to help, encourage, and inspire

others out of their own darkness.

Don’t stay there…

Don’t stay there…

Everyone goes through hell, but not everyone stays there by Bryant McGill

Everyone goes through hell, but not everyone stays there. Stop tormenting yourself by reliving the pain over and over. Good people go through terrible things, but wise people know when and how to let it go. We all know that wisdom does not come easy, it often comes from painful experience. Many of us are very unwise in how we handle our pain. Like an animal that struggles in a steel trap, we worsen our wounds the way we struggle, deny, and fight against what simply, is. When we refuse to learn the wisdom of acceptance, we become our own tormentors. When we refuse to let go we suffer, yet we cannot let go of something until it has taught us what we need to learn. Letting go is a process of recognition, confrontation, acceptance, and healing. Letting go simply means not suffering any more than absolutely necessary, but just enough to expand and strengthen ourselves. Some suffering is needed to deepen our compassion, to grow, and to learn. Letting go means you have learned enough, and now have compassion for yourself. Letting go means not touching that sore spot until it is infected, and instead letting it heal. Letting go means carrying a permanent scar, but not a permanent wound. Letting go means you may have walked through hell, but came out the other side ready to make your life a heaven. Letting go means you refuse to be a victim forever, by letting one moment define the rest of your life. Letting go means you accept change, and you accept that your pain is not permanent. Letting go means you accept that you cannot take away the past, but you insist that the past cannot take away your future. Letting go means you are ready to move forward and live. Letting go means you are no longer afraid. It was always fear that held you prisoner; letting go means you are finally free.

{Pray for the wisdom to know how and when to let go.}

Your features…

Your features…

“You do not understand

your features.

Your features are not your

beautiful nose, your beautiful

cheeks, beautiful lips, and so on.

These are not your features.

Your features are

Your beautiful behavior,

Your beautiful character,

Your beautiful health,

Your beautiful spirit,

Your beautiful advice,

Your beautiful wisdom,

Your beautiful inspiration.”

~Yogi Bhajan

There is so much more to a person than their physical looks.

Whether you are very beautiful and young, or if you are more of a plain looking person, or of a senior age, it doesn’t really matter.  Whether you have gorgeous well groomed hair, or a short bobbed off hair cut.

Whatever suits you at the time is who you are.

But don’t get caught up in the beauty only

because it will all fade in time anyway.

Your real features are your personality traits.

Whether you are a patient and kind person, who is well liked or whether you are impatient and high strung requiring your own space.

Whether you are truly a tolerant person or whether you just talk and write about being tolerant and then quickly judge any one who is different than yourself.

Whether you truly love life and the people you are with or whether you just pretend to like them to get what you can from them.

All of these things contribute to your true features whether they are beautiful, or not.

You may even be able to fake some of the qualities you don’t like about yourself for a time being –  but eventually they will come out – just like the fact that physical beauty will fade away.

It’s just a matter of time.

Other features increase with time.

Patience for example, is a virtue that is of great value.

As it increases your life will become one that expresses more grace and ease.

These are definitely beautiful qualities.

And the more you practice these qualities the more they will increase in your life.

Allowing you to become what ever you want to be.

Focus on these true features instead of your physical features and watch your life

change

in many ways for the better.

Money is very important in life, but there are many things that money can not buy.

These are all significant parts of life that you don’t need money for,

in fact no amount of money can buy them.
