The beauty of Spring…
The delicate sweet smelling yellow daffodils are out in full bloom, and so are the notorious ever spreading dandelions, and various other prolific yet pretty flowers, also known as “weeds”.
There are all kinds of flowers blooming and growing everywhere you turn, everywhere you look.
Spring has SPRUNG in the Pacific Northwest.
Pictured here is my beautiful prized pear tree showing off its soft fragrant blossoms to the world. Bees are buzzing by to say hello and collect all of the delicate golden pollen that they can hold in the little pollen pockets on their legs. Sometimes the fuzzy little honey bees look so full of pollen and weighted down, that it is questionable whether they are going to be able to fly away, fully loaded to their maximum capacity. Somehow they do though, off and away they go, buzzing loudly now as they engage their powerful and mighty little wings, all the while pursuing the mission of finding their way back to the hive, full speed ahead.
The cool but gentle breeze is also blowing diligently through the air, spreading the loose little pear tree petals to the ground, piling them up as if they were snow drifts, into soft little white mounds, covering and caressing the grass below them.
There is certain beauty everywhere.
Even the grass is a quaint spring shade of green, growing tall and free – even where it’s not suppose to be. Wanting and trying to expand it’s own kind before the other nearby species grow taller and stronger, forcing it into submission.
The sky is a distinct cerulean shade of blue with just a few light, puffy, cumulous clouds scattered about here and there, proving that it is truly SPRING in the northwest area of Washington State.
Even the birds are chirping with excitement as they perch themselves in nearby cedar and Nobel fir trees, singing their songs of love to one another. Joyously spreading their message to nearby squirrels and chipmunks who also inhabit their own secluded section of the mighty Noble fir tree. Spring is here – Spring is in the air – Everywhere- they proclaim!
Have a great day everyone. I hope you have enjoyed this little descriptive writing where I have purposely painted a picture of Spring using colorful words to go along with the current photo of a pear tree from my back yard. Please take time to comment or write your own version of “Spring is in the air” and share it in the comment section below.
