A small voice…
within each of us
a small, still voice
Some call it God
Some call it conscience
Some call it truth
Some call it intuition
It is known my many names
It exists in every human
I care not what it is called
but simply that we listen to it
For I know that it makes us one…
The still, small voice is referred to in the Bible
as the voice of the Holy Spirit.
It is a voice that is also known as the quiet voice of God.
If we aren’t careful, we will miss that still, small voice, and listen to the larger voice of our ego or someone else’s voice of importance in our lives.
- Maybe our well meaning parents.
- Maybe our teachers.
- Maybe law enforcement.
- Maybe school officials.
- Maybe classmates.
- Maybe relatives.
- Maybe friends.
There are endless well meaning people who want to share advice with you.
Their intention may be to share a compelling story that they feel will help you in some way.
Or something that happened to them that changed their life in some profound adventure.
The problem with all of it is that their experience is NOT your experience.
It’s their calling NOT your calling.
They may have gotten into trouble themselves because they didn’t listen to the still, small voice.
But they listened to someone else instead.
Someone who pushed their influence onto that person.
With a loud, undeniable voice.
Someone who may have meant well, but just didn’t realize that they were actually KEEPING the other person from experiencing their Highest Good by not following their divine calling.
When someone else prevents you from these divine experiences, they actually keep you farther away from that still, small voice.
It is definitely up to each individual to discern which voice to listen to, and a lot of the time it is only age and experience that will determine the correct results.
We have all made mistakes and done things that we wish we had done differently, but life goes on.
It is good to know that you really never get anything WRONG, anyway.
And that we never get it done.
In other words, if you think you have failed at something, just try again with what you have learned from the first experience.
There will always be another chance to apply your education to your next challenge.
Unless you run out of time in this life and have to save your lessons until the next go round.
But as long as you are here,
and the more you connect with the spiritual world and listen to the small, still voice,
the more able you will be to hear the true calling of your life through spiritual guidance
and more able you will be to become ONE with it.
