Inner peace…

Learning to ignore things is one of the great paths to inner peace. ~ Robert J. Sawer

*

Sometimes other people do their very best to knock you off your path to “peace”.

They seek your attention and annoy you into discomfort and disagreements.

Anything to get more attention for themselves disregarding your need for peace and harmony.

Sometimes the best path to peace is to learn to ignore some of the pettiness that other people express and the little distractions they present.

Just follow your own path to peace in spite of what other people say and do.

And just take your time. No need to try so hard and hurry everything. After all, CALM is the new superpower.

Distractions come and go.

Life is filled with a lot of things a long the way to where you are going, so make sure peace is the real priority, and practice it fervently along your woven pathway.

That way, instead of other people taking you off your path, you will be encouraging others to actually follow your lead and be blessed with a better, more peaceful life themselves.

Crazy busy…

‘Crazy-busy’ is a great armor, it’s a great way for numbing. What a lot of us do is that we stay so busy, and so out in front of our life, that the truth of how we’re feeling and what we really need can’t catch up with us. ~ Brene Brown

*

I know that in this day and age, people are nearly worshiped if they can multitask the hell out of life.

It’s like the more they can accomplish the better they feel about themselves.

And the more they think others will respect them also.

Some may agree with these statistics for the sake of appearance, but looking behind the scenes, you can perceive that this is only a life that is driven rather than guided or divinely directed.

A life like this that is crazy super busy is that way by CHOICE.

Perhaps it is a coping mechanism to cover the brokenness inside that needs to stay hidden for the time being.

Something to think about as you add one more project to your never ending to do list…

This shall pass…

“This too, shall pass. When things are bad, remember: It won’t always be this way. Take one day at a time. When things are good, remember: It won’t always be this way. Enjoy Every great moment.”(-Doe Zantamata)

Good to remember that there will be good days and not so good days, but they both will pass with time.

So enjoy the time you have every day as much as you can.

Some people will…

The sad truth is that there are some people who will only be there for you as long as you have something they need. When you no longer serve a purpose to them, they will leave. The good news is, if you tough it out, you’ll eventually weed these people out of your life and be left with some great people you can count on. We rarely lose friends, we just gradually figure out who our real ones are.
~ Darren John Maxwell

*

I think that it is always sad when you find out that someone is not who they have presented themselves to be.

I would, however, rather find this truth out sooner than later, previously wasting sometimes years waiting for someone to get their stuff together. And they never will.

Not to be negative, it’s just that when someone presents themselves based on lie after lie, they will never become the fantasy that they have presented themselves to be.

If only people would just be themselves, it would be so much more tolerable and easier to relate to than trying to unravel all the un truths presented.

Live and let live.

Find those who resonate with you and appreciate you.

The others will be weeded out eventually.

And don’t be mad at yourself for being a trusting, vulnerable person. It’s not your fault that other people are not honest.

It is your fault though, if you keep falling for the “same old story.”

We all need to be responsible for our own choices, and our own level of truth and honesty.

We become like our friends…

We become like our friends…

The people we surround ourselves

with either raise or lower

our standards.  They either help us

to become the best version of

ourselves or encourage us to

become lesser versions of ourselves.

We become like our friends.

No man becomes great on his own.

The people around them help

to make them great.

~Matthew Kelly

*

We tend to gravitate toward the people

that share the same interests that we do.

We may have something in common with them to start with,

and then as we spend time together, we become more alike.

We share commonalities and abilities,

perhaps even religious affiliations.

As time goes on, only the people that we find similar

and that we can really get along with become close enough to influence us.

At that point they may draw us closer to our true selves,

or influence us to become lesser versions of ourselves.

They either raise or lower our standards.

So be careful who you choose to hang around with

because you will become more like them,

whoever they are.

Grief…

Grief…

Grief, after the initial shock of

loss, comes on in waves.

When you’re driving alone in

your car, while you’re doing

the dishes, while you’re

getting ready for work…and

all of a sudden it hits you-

how so very MUCH you miss

someone, and your breath

catches, and your tears flow,

and the sadness is so great

that it’s physically painful!

~Nicole Gabert

*

Grief can be extremely hard

for the longest time.

Be sure to deal with it

the best way you know how

and give yourself permission to feel your feelings,

what ever they are.

Sooth yourself as much as you can.

It will get better in time,

so take as much time as you need.

Being rude is…

Being rude

is easy.

It does not

take any effort

and is a sign

of weakness

and insecurity.

Kindness shows

great self-discipline

and strong self-esteem.

Being kind is not always easy

when dealing with rude people.

Kindness is a sign of a person

who has done a lot of personal work

and has come to a great

self-understanding and wisdom.

Choose to be kind over being right,

and you’ll be right every time  because

kindness is a sign of STRENGTH.

~Attitude to Inspiration

*

Sometimes when you are in an altercation with someone,

you have an instant response to their rudeness.

You automatically act out to the injustice someone is pushing on you.

It is a natural response.  When someone yells at you – you yell back in justification.

But as you mature and grow in life, you realize that there are always going to be rude people and “bullies”.

If you can just step away from them, letting them vent on someone else – they will.

This takes your willingness to let people flow in and out of your life with out holding on to them.

You must LOVE yourself enough to know that other people may have a different agenda than you do.

They are not always looking for your best interests – even though they say they are.

Time always shows a person’s true colors.

So don’t be in a rush to believe in others.

They often come on with a big story that suits them, and after time, you find out that there are a lot of “holes” in their story.

It just doesn’t make sense.

And often, you become the target of their anger.

So learn to believe in yourself.

Follow your own path and listen to the still small voice inside you

that guides you in truth and LOVE.

Be kind and kindness will eventually flow all around you,

replacing the old ways with new ones.

Oh boy…

Oh boy…

AS I GET OLDER I REALIZE:

  1. I talk to myself, because sometimes I need expert advice.
  2. Sometimes I roll my eyes out loud.
  3. I don’t need anger management.  I need people to stop pissing me off.
  4. My people skills are just fine.  It’s my tolerance of idiots that needs work.
  5. The biggest lie I tell myself is “I don’t need to write that down, I’ll remember it.”
  6. When I was a child I thought nap time was punishment.  Now it’s like a mini vacation.
  7. The  day the world runs out of wine is just too terrible to think about.
  8. Even duct tape can’t fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.
  9. Wouldn’t it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes; come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller?
  10. “Getting Lucky” means walking into a room and remembering why I’m there.

*

Some of these are actually things that are real and close to my heart, while others are meant to be lighthearted and funny.

Sometimes the best thing to do is to lighten up and laugh at ourselves because

LIFE  IS  REAL.

And it doesn’t always go the way we planned it.

In fact it rarely does.

Otherwise we wouldn’t have any lessons to learn or any clarity to gain.

But through the trials in life we are able to redefine and refine the things that we do want and to get rid of the things that don’t resonate with us any more.

And it’s the same for people.

Some acquaintances seemed so important at the time and now they make you wonder what you could have possibly been thinking of to be with that person at all.

But then again, we all have lessons to learn and grow from.

Change is a part of life.  We start out wanting one thing, and often when we get it, we no longer want it.  Or we have changed so much that we are looking for something else now, usually something more.

That is just natural human growth.

And hopefully you are growing and changing for the better.

Refining your life to include:

  • Better friends
  • More love
  • More joy
  • A better life
  • More wealth
  • More happiness
  • A loving family
  • Better health
  • More peace
  • More fun

At least these are some of the things I welcome into my life these days.

Appreciating what I have while seeking more.

Working for more.  Planning for more. Desiring even more.

Changing old ways of thinking into newer ways that are “allowing” rather than restricting.

Wanting the world to be a better place for all.

Starting with

myself and making

my world

a better place

by becoming

even MORE

every day.

New Year’s Eve…

New Year’s Eve…

Before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, Let’s stop and reflect on the year that has gone by:

Our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken.

The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt.

Cause that’s what New Year’s Eve is all about…Getting another chance.

The chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more, and to stop worrying about “what if” and start embracing “what will be.”

So when that ball drops at midnight, let’s remember to be kind to each other.

Not just tonight, but all year long.

~New Year’s Eve

*

Each new year brings another chance to review and renew our selves.

We may want to revisit :

  • Things that didn’t work our right
  • Things that did work our right
  • Things we want to do this year
  • Things we don’t want to do this year
  • New goals
  • Things on our “bucket list”
  • Eating better
  • Better health
  • Read more books
  • Watch more movies
  • Exercise more
  • Have better communication
  • Find a deeper love connection
  • More adventure

In other words just do the best you can with what you have.

I’m not going to feel pressured to “do” or “be” anything this year, instead I’m going to get in touch with my inner being and follow the lead of the Spirit.

Being more peaceful, balanced, loving and kind, I expect things to be easier and I expect to actually accomplish more.

~WITH MORE~

Unconditional self love…

Inspired action…

Celebration…

and Completion
