Your perfect fit…
” People think a soul mate is
your perfect fit, and that’s
what everyone wants. But a
true soul mate is a mirror,
the person who shows you
everything that’s holding
you back, the person who
brings you to your own
attention so you can change
your life. A true soul mate is
probably the most important
person you’ll ever meet, because
they tear down your walls and
smack you awake.”
There is a lot of talk about “soul mates” these days.
Everyone wants one – nobody has one- and on it goes…
The soul mate, in my opinion, is someone’s version of the impossible dream.
That illusive PERFECT person that everyone dreams of having.
The answer to every thing…
I think the flawed premise is that PERFECT is just a word in the dictionary that doesn’t really apply to humans.
I’ve never met a perfect human anyway.
So to think that anyone is the answer to all of your hopes, dreams, and wants, will leave you seeking your “true soul mate” for the rest of your life.
Endlessly seeking that perfect one who doesn’t exist.
Why not spend your time perfecting your own life and then you don’t really need anyone else.
A mate will then be a complimentary addition to the wonderful life you already have. You will be strong enough to make good choices and more likely to find people who reflect your own preferences and values.
Someone who is a mirror to you and who brings out the things that you need to see, in order to keep yourself growing.
And that will look a lot more like a true soul mate than the fairy tale version that so many seek after.
Best of luck on your searching…
