Whenever you find yourself
how far you can go,
how far you have come.
that you have faced,
all the battles you have won,
and all the fears you have overcome.
Being fearful can be devastating. It can hold you back from following your hopes and dreams. It can make you sick with worry, and can make you feel all around cold and disconnected from others.
Doubting yourself can also effect you the same way. It just holds you down as if you were a captive somehow. Unable to move in any direction.
Extreme doubting can turn into a form of inertia. Not moving at all.
Inertia is tough because it is as if you get stuck in place and keep playing the same old bunch of negative self talk – over and over. Like being stuck in the mud somewhere. Held down and kept down.
If you are ever in doubt, think about the awesome things you have completed so far. The many battles you have faced, won, and overcome. Even little accomplishments are still steps on a forward path.
Just keep moving forward.
You really do need to have faith in yourself.
One step at a time… Maybe even one little tiny baby step at a time. Just keep going.
If you are having a really hard time right now, there are many things that can help you feel better. One thing you could do to feel better is to put on your favorite music. Maybe a favorite song from the past, or present. Something that really speaks to you and lifts up your spirits. Or if you are a musician, you could get out your guitar, key board, or drum set and just start jamming away. Maybe call a friend to play with, or just plan a session together. Anything you can do to to get your self moving and going, is a great start.
Life is short – if you keep practicing appreciation for what you do have and what you have accomplished, it will be easier to find more things to be thankful for and then to take the next step in life. Having gratitude always leads to more and better things. It can start as an affirmation and then become a practice, and end up becoming a life long habit.
