Your progress does not need to be seen or validated by other people. ~ unknown

It’s taken me a long time to understand this principle.
There are people and groups of people that promote progress as if it is the most important thing in the world.
There are mini goals and macro goals, short term goals, and long-term goals.
Each of these are monitored with some mode of a progress chart.
And only when you reach these goals are you able to move up in status and allowed to go to the next level of your goal setting program.
Although I agree somewhat with this concept, I find that living each day to the fullest requires more than just reaching certain goals.
It may require an entire day off at the beach or mowing the lawn and then sitting in the lawn chair for the rest of the afternoon while reading an exceptionally exciting new novel.
Then going back to the “goal at hand” after getting completely away from it for a while.
It gives you fresh eyes and perhaps a new perspective the next time you view your old goals.
And as far as being seen or validated by other people – totally not necessary.
What is important is
to be seen and validated
by your own inner self.
