The sad truth is that there are some people who will only be there for you as long as you have something they need. When you no longer serve a purpose to them, they will leave. The good news is, if you tough it out, you’ll eventually weed these people out of your life and be left with some great people you can count on. We rarely lose friends, we just gradually figure out who our real ones are.
~ Darren John Maxwell
I think that it is always sad when you find out that someone is not who they have presented themselves to be.
I would, however, rather find this truth out sooner than later, previously wasting sometimes years waiting for someone to get their stuff together. And they never will.
Not to be negative, it’s just that when someone presents themselves based on lie after lie, they will never become the fantasy that they have presented themselves to be.
If only people would just be themselves, it would be so much more tolerable and easier to relate to than trying to unravel all the un truths presented.
Live and let live.
Find those who resonate with you and appreciate you.
The others will be weeded out eventually.
And don’t be mad at yourself for being a trusting, vulnerable person. It’s not your fault that other people are not honest.
It is your fault though, if you keep falling for the “same old story.”
We all need to be responsible for our own choices, and our own level of truth and honesty.
