Listen to people…

Don’t listen to people

who tell you what to

do.  Listen to people

who encourage you to

do what you know in

your heart is right.

It is so refreshing to have people in your life who can encourage you to do what you feel is right.

If you go against your own heart, you won’t be happy.

Your decision will eat at you until you either rectify the situation or you become so numb from pushing it away that you loose  a part of your conscience.

If you listen to people who just tell you what to do, it might benefit them in some way, but does it really benefit you?

You must learn to listen to your own heart, or otherwise referred to as your “inner being”

because that is your way of being in touch with your inner self.

Listening and being in touch with your inner being is the way to increase your love, good  energy, and general well being.

The more in touch you become, the more information you can access from your true self.

Therefore increasing your vitality, awareness and mindfulness.

Suffering brings about awakening

People will only allow so much pain in their life

before they look for something to relieve that pain.

Whether it be physical, mental, or emotional pain, each of these are all forms of discomfort.

Discomfort ignored for long enough eventually leads to varied levels of pain and suffering.

Whether you then seek out traditional medicine, or you lean towards and unconventional method of relief may depend on a lot of things.

Sometimes Tylenol alone takes care of what is ailing you.  Sometimes you have to go deeper into your medicine cabinet, or have to seek out a medical specialist to help you.

Even then, when pain is relieved on a topical level, there are often underlying causes of the condition and suffering remains because of it.

At some point the deeper issue comes to the fore front enough to examine it,

and when resolved – ends the suffering.

At the point where someone becomes “AWARE” of the deeper level, or real issue, and knows what to do about it – (often forgiveness is involved)

allows the end of that suffering to increase their awareness accordingly.

Forgiveness is…

Forgiveness is the most

powerful thing you can do for

yourself on the spiritual path.

If you can’t learn to forgive, you

can forget about getting to

higher levels of awareness.

 

Affirm:  I forgive everyone,

including myself.

 

Forgiveness is a part of life.  You can’t move on from past hurts if you aren’t able to forgive.

The longer you hold on to things the harder they are to let go of.

They become a part of your life, a part of your story.

The more you tell your story, including the hurts and unforgiveness, the more powerful it becomes.

If you want to grow into higher levels of love and awareness, you must learn to forgive, and that includes forgiving yourself.

Boundaries

Limits… Boundaries

What are boundaries?
“Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or limits that a person creates to identify for themselves what are reasonable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave towards him or her and how they will respond when someone steps past those limits.”
This is the definition of personal boundaries according to Wikipedia.

Another state of mind about limits is that of securing your property and ensuring yourself.no-trespassing

How you do that is your procedure. Your choice.  Your process.  It is easier and less demanding to consider than actually do.

At the point when individuals are in your space and talking you down, how would you guard yourself? How would you respond to them without moving down to their level? It takes a ton of practice. It takes a great deal of consideration, self seeking, and soul looking.

It is constantly better to “respond” instead of “reacting” to  other individuals. Life Lessons

Lessons…

This is a spreading out of our positive awareness. That is, the point at which we comprehend that we’re sheltered and do not fear our past encounters – which is for many people extremely troublesome. Meditation

Meditation

Meditation refers to a state where your body and mind are consciously relaxed and focused. Practitioners of this art report increased awareness, focus, and concentration, as well as a more positive outlook in life, increased energy and love.

Meditation is most commonly associated with monks, mystics and other spiritual disciplines. However, you don’t have to be a monk or mystic to enjoy its benefits. And you don’t even have to be in a special place to practice it. You can even try it in your own living room.

Although there are many different approaches to meditation, the fundamental principles remain the same. The most important among these principles is that of removing obstructive, negative, and wandering thoughts and fantasies, and calming the mind with a deep sense of focus. This clears the mind of debris and prepares it for a higher quality of activity.

The negative thoughts you have – those of noisy neighbors, bossy office mates, that parking ticket you got, and unwanted spam– are said to contribute to the ‘polluting’ of the mind, and shutting them out allows for the ‘cleansing’ of the mind so that it may focus on deeper, more meaningful thoughts.

Some practitioners even shut out all sensory input – no sights, no sounds, and nothing to touch – and try to detach themselves from the commotion around them. You may now focus on a deep, profound thought if this is your goal. It may seem deafening at first, since we are all too accustomed to constantly hearing and seeing things, but as you continue this exercise you will find yourself becoming more aware of everything around you.

If you find the meditating positions you see on television threatening – those with impossibly arched backs, and painful-looking contortions – you need not worry. The principle here is to be in a comfortable position conducive to concentration.   This may be while sitting cross-legged, standing, lying down, and even walking.

If the position allows you to relax and focus, then that would be a good starting point. While sitting or standing, the back should be straight, but not tense or tight.

Loose, comfortable clothes help a lot in the process since tight fitting clothes have a tendency to choke you up and make you feel tense.

The place you practice meditation should have a soothing atmosphere. It may be in your living room, or bedroom, or any place that you feel comfortable in. You might want an exercise mat or pillow to set on if you plan to take on the more challenging positions.  You may want to have the place arranged so that it is soothing to your senses.

Silence helps most people relax and meditate, so you may want a quiet, isolated area far from the ringing of the phone or the humming of the washing machine. Pleasing scents also help in that regard, so try stocking up on aromatic candles or essential oils.candle

The monks you see on television making sounds are actually performing their mantra. This, in simple terms, is a short creed, a simple sound which, for these practitioners, holds a mystic value.

You do not have to perform these sounds, however, focusing on repeated actions such as breathing, and humming help the practitioner enter a higher state of consciousness.

The principle here is focus. You could also try focusing on a certain object or thought, or even, while keeping your eyes open, focus on a single sight. It’s never too early to learn to meditate.

One sample routine would be to – while in a meditative state – silently name every part of you body and focusing your consciousness on that part. While doing this you should be aware of any tension on any part of your body. Mentally visualize releasing this tension. It works wonders.

In all, meditation is a relatively risk-free practice and its benefits are well worth the effort.

Studies have shown that meditation does bring about beneficial physiologic effects to the body. And there has been a growing consensus in the medical community to further study the effects of such. So in the near future, who knows, that mystical, esoteric thing we call meditation might become a science itself.

Soulfulness

 Soulfulness

When was the last time you closed your eyes and simply paid attention to the inner world within yourself? As you close your eyes and look to your inner self, your insight is awakened. You are able to become conscious of what infuses our external world with our inner world. Each of us has individual awareness or ways we interpret the world around us. Because of our unique experiences of the world, we take in multiple images across the span of a lifetime. These experiences are imprinted in our psyche and our soul.snuggels

The act of recalling these memories creates expressions or feelings in our heart. These past expressions are pondered in the inner vision of our mind and our heart as though we are re-living them in the present. In so doing, we are retrieving our soul at various points of interests that have lodged a sense of importance to our individual awareness. The movement from the world around us to the world within us is a shift in attention. This shift in our attention is a conscious choice. Here, we realize that the world around us has hidden aspects to it reminding us just how privileged we are to be aware of our awareness. This realization alone gives us identification with whom we are.

You and I are conscious beings who live in a body, but this isn’t our real home. We inhabit space and time, but our real self, our authentic self, our individual awareness (soul) is a unique expression of spirit infusing our lives from an infinite number of possible correlations. We make choices every day on how our life will be lived. Each choice creates a pattern. These patterns become a statement of our character. Our character becomes a living testimony on the inner processes of our thoughts incarnating into the world we live in.

As such, the life of our soul is revealed. Every moment, we are given the opportunity to experience our soul in a variety of ways. These experiences are facets of our inner world that manifest themselves from a single expression we call spirit. The intent to focus on our past, our present, or our future desires leads us to a path. This path is a revelation of our soul seeking out an opportunity to live out our purpose. Purpose gives us meaning and hope beyond our present circumstances. It is a path into what can no longer be seen and moving our lives and our soul – into SPIRIT.

Boundaries…

Boundaries…Boundaries

What are boundaries?

Another way of thinking about boundaries is that of protecting your property and protecting yourself.  How you do that is your process.  It is sometimes easier to think about than actually do.  When people are in your space and talking you down, how do you defend yourself?   How do you react to them with out moving down to their level?  It takes a lot of practice.  It takes a lot of contemplation, self searching, and soul searching.  It is always better to “respond” rather than to “react” to other people.  When the intensity of the moment, especially when it is perceived that someone else is  attacking  you, happens, you must act with great resolve in order to stay true to yourself.  Hold on to your self esteem, have your boundaries in full awareness.  Keep yourself within your desires, rather than reacting to the other person.

Some people actually like to cause ripples in other peoples lives.  They strive on conflict and chaos.  Drama is their mission.  That puts them in the control position, making them feel powerful because they are in fact controlling you.  It doesn’t seem to matter what the end result is, to these people, they live for the moment, causing whatever conflict they can, being offensive and doing whatever it takes to control the moment.  When in contact with this kind of person, you must keep your own personal goals in mind, knowing that this situation is only temporary.  If you desire peace and harmony in your life, you have to just side step conflict causers, and move away from them.

I used to have a lot of conflict in my life.  It seemed to follow me everywhere I went.  People would seek me out to be rude to me.  I guess I was an easy target for someone wanting to vent their discomfort or anger.  I finally figured out that other people’s anger is their problem, and it didn’t have to be mine.  I started practicing my own peace and harmony until it was just normal and comfortable for me NOT to have or allow conflict around me.  Peace and harmony has become a habit for me.

Of coarse you know that the more you practice something, the easier it becomes.  I surround myself with kind, harmonious, fun people that encourage and love me.  It feels so much better now that I enforce my boundaries, and attract the peace and harmony that I really want.
